Sunday, February 6
“As promoted by Subaru, the Lakewood Dog Park would like to join in the festivities of exercising our dogs on Superbowl Sunday. Let’s get out in the fresh air and allow our four-legged friends to play prior to the start of the big football game. Many of our pooches do not visit the park as often in the winter, and this would be a great way to keep them socialized and to reconnect with your two-legged friends, as well. While the park will be open during normal hours, we hope to increase our attendance between the hours of 10am and 1pm on Sunday, February 6. In addition to the fellow dog park attendees, a representative from Ganley Subaru will be at the park during these hours, and would be happy to discuss Subaru’s involvement with local dog charities. We hope to see as many dogs (and people) as possible!”

A day for the dogs – Pet blessing and walk observe the feast of St. Francis in Tremont
Cleveland (October 1, 2010) – Tremont’s special residents – those with fur, feathers or scales – are invited to celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 9 with a special blessing and a pet walk event.
The blessing and walk are hosted by Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Reverend Tracey Lind will bless dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and other pets at Clark Dog Field in South Tremont on October 9 at noon. Pet – and people- refreshments will be served. Following the blessing at 1 p.m., four-legged residents and their masters are invited to participate in Wag-N-Walk, a two-mile walk from Clark Field to Lincoln Park. Cost of the walk is $10 per dog and donations support Trinity’s outreach in Greater Cleveland. Register at the event or in advance by emailing trinitywagnwalk@gmail.com.
“I invite Tremont’s residents and pets to join us in celebrating with one of our community’s treasured resources,†said Councilman Joe Cimperman. “Trinity Episcopal Cathedral plays a central role in reaching out to those in need within our neighborhood and across Cleveland. This event is another great way for neighbors – and their pets – to connect with one another and support Tremont.â€
St. Francis of Assisi was born the son of a prosperous merchant of Assisi in 1182. Early in his life he renounced his family’s wealth and devoted himself to serving the poor. He is known for his love of animals, which is why animals are traditionally blessed in his memory.
